El Laboratorio de Antioxidantes (LAOX), constituido y dirigido desde el año 2001 por el Prof. Hernan Speisky, comprende dos espacios altamente equipados que funcionan en forma Independiente. Mientras el primero se centra exclusivamente en la investigación básica y pre-aplicada (realizada por estudiantes de pregrado, magíster, doct- y posdoctorado), el segundo está destinado primariamente a la prestación de servicios de análisis y desarrollo de productos ricos en antioxidantes (ejecutada por profesionales contratados por LAOX). En la actualidad (Oct-2015) el laboratorio dispone de recursos correspondientes a un proyecto Fondecyt, un Innova, un Copec-UC, y un proyecto de posdoctorado. La productividad científica del LAOX supone la publicación de 3-4 trabajos ISI por año. Junto a su labor de investigación, el LAOX realiza una activa labor docente (de pre y postgrado) y de extensión a través de la plataforma digital que LAOX creó y administra www.portalantioxidantes.com
