Licenciado en Química, Magister en Control de Residuos de Plaguicidas y Contaminantes en Alimentos y Medio Ambiente y Doctor en Química Avanzada, todos los grados obtenidos en la Universidad de Almería (España). La Tesis Doctoral fue realizada en el Laboratorio de Tecnología de Alimentos de la Universidad de Almería bajo la dirección del Prof. José Luis Guil Guerrero, con el título “Biodistribución y concentración de PUFAs. Síntesis de lípidos estructurados basados en C18-PUFAs”, defendida en marzo de 2011 con la calificación de “Sobresaliente cum laude”. Desde enero de 2012 hasta finales de 2014 trabajé como investigador analítico en el laboratorio de Química Orgánica de la compañía Delft Research Group, en Delft (Holanda), realizando tareas de desarrollo y validación de métodos de extracción y análisis de plaguicidas y nutrientes en matrices alimentarias. En 2015 me incorporé al INTA de la Universidad de Chile, adscrito al Laboratorio de Lípidos, el cual dirijo desde 2019.
